Fire / EMS How To Use

Overview

This guide explains the main Fire / EMS commands, controls, tools, and scene-use expectations for Praxis RP.

Fire / EMS roleplay should focus on:

Scene safety

Realistic apparatus placement

Patient care

Fire suppression

Rescue operations

Team communication

Proper use of equipment

Professional scene management

Fire / EMS scenes are not about rushing every call. Slow down, communicate, and build realistic roleplay.

Getting Started

Before Going On Duty

Before beginning Fire / EMS duty, complete the following:

  1. Put on the correct Fire / EMS uniform.
  2. Turn on your fire pager.
  3. Get your medical permissions.
  4. Open or confirm access to the fire menu.
  5. Subscribe to the correct Area of Patrol if required.
  6. Confirm your radio is working.
  7. Stage your apparatus properly.
  8. Make sure you understand the tools you are using.
  9. Respond professionally to all calls.

Fire Pager

Use this command to turn on your fire pager:

/pager fire

This allows you to receive fire-related pager notifications.

If your pager is not on, you may miss fire calls or dispatch notifications.

Medical Permissions

Use this command to get medical permissions:

/umems

This gives access to EMS patient-care actions through Third Eye.

Firefighters operating as EMS should use /umems before beginning patient care.

EMS Third Eye Actions

After using /umems, use Third Eye on the patient to access EMS actions.

Third Eye ActionUse
assessAssess the patient's condition and injuries
stabilizeStabilize the patient and prevent further deterioration
cprPerform CPR on an unresponsive patient
reviveRevive the patient when appropriate
treatTreat injuries or medical issues
Use Third Eye directly on the patient after running /umems.
Do not instantly revive every patient. When possible, assess, stabilize, treat, and roleplay care properly before revival.

Fire Menu

Open Fire Menu

The fire menu can be opened using the keybind:

ActionKey
Open Fire MenuU

The fire menu can also be opened using:

/openfiremenu

The fire menu is used for fire operations, patrol subscriptions, incident management, and fire-related features.

Firefighters may need to be on duty or subscribed to an Area of Patrol before receiving incident UI, blips, or tablet cards.

Area of Patrol

Fire incidents are organized by Area of Patrol.

AOPLabelMinimum Firefighters

Subscribe to the correct AOP for the area you are actively patrolling.
If you are not subscribed to an AOP, you may not see incident blips, tablet cards, or fire call UI.

Smart Fire Incidents

Incident Types

Smart fire incidents may include:

Structure fires

Wildfires

Vehicle fires

Vehicle rescues

Smoke investigations

Explosion-based fires

Scenario-based fire calls

Fire Notifications

Fire dispatches may show as:

Command

/driptorch

The drip torch is used for controlled fire operations, including wildfire and controlled burn roleplay.

Do not use the drip torch randomly. It should only be used for approved controlled burns, wildfire operations, or training.
Starting fires without a valid RP reason can create unnecessary scenes and may violate server rules.

/autofiresControls or checks automatic fires
/firedebugToggles fire debug mode
/hosedebugToggles hose debug mode
/firedumpjsonDumps fire JSON data
Admin fire commands are for approved staff, training, testing, and controlled RP only.
Do not use admin fire commands during active RP unless you are authorized to manage that scene.

Scene Safety

Fire Scene Priorities

  1. Life safety.
  2. Scene stabilization.
  3. Fire control.
  4. Search and rescue.
  5. Patient care.
  6. Property conservation.
  7. Overhaul and investigation.
Do not rush into fire scenes without SCBA, a hose line, and a plan.

Apparatus Placement

Good apparatus placement keeps the scene organized and realistic.

Do not block the entire road unless needed.

Leave room for additional apparatus.

Keep EMS access open.

Park uphill and upwind when possible.

Use cones, chocks, and traffic control when needed.

Stage apparatus based on the type of incident.

Keep water supply access open.

Good apparatus placement makes the scene look more realistic and prevents chaos.

Rescue Operations

Vehicle Rescue

For vehicle rescue scenes, consider using:

Chocks

Inflatable jack

Spreaders

Saw

Stretcher

EMS care

Traffic control

Stabilize the vehicle before cutting, lifting, or removing patients.

Water Rescue

For water rescue scenes, consider using:

Throw bag

Staged rescue team

EMS standby

Scene command

Safe shoreline operations

Do not enter unsafe water unless the scene is properly coordinated.

High-Angle / Fall Rescue

For jump or fall scenes, consider using:

Rescue cushion

Stretcher

EMS care

Scene command

Traffic and crowd control

Rescue cushions reduce injury risk, but they should not be abused or used for unrealistic repeated jumps.

EMS Patient Care Flow

Suggested Patient Care Order

  1. Scene safety.
  2. Use Third Eye to assess.
  3. Use Third Eye to stabilize.
  4. Begin treatment with treat.
  5. Use cpr if the patient is unresponsive and CPR is appropriate.
  6. Use revive only when the scene and roleplay support it.
  7. Move the patient to the stretcher.
  8. Transport or transfer care as needed.
A good EMS scene is built through communication. Explain what you are doing, ask questions, and give the patient roleplay time to respond.
Do not skip straight to revival on every call. Assessing and stabilizing creates better medical roleplay.

Final Reminders

Fire / EMS roleplay is about professionalism, teamwork, and realistic scene management.
Use the right tool for the job. Hose lines, deck guns, monitors, chocks, jacks, stretchers, fans, and EMS actions all create better RP when used correctly.
Do not abuse fire tools, start random fires, or deploy equipment without a valid RP reason.
Unrealistic tool use can ruin scenes for other players. Keep operations believable and professional.
