Praxis RP Canon Events Guidelines

At Praxis RP, we value roleplay that builds a lasting story. Our goal is to create a server where actions have meaning and consequences, not a run-and-gun environment. While many servers claim to be “serious RP,” they often allow behavior that would not realistically occur.

Here, we expect players to think:

“Would I realistically do this in this situation?”

Your character’s actions should align with their personality, backstory, and the situation they are in. For example, a shy or fearful character would not realistically engage in high-risk criminal activity such as armed robbery without proper buildup and development.

What is a Canon Event

A canon event is an officially recognized roleplay event that has lasting impact on a character, group, or the server world. These events are recorded as part of the server’s ongoing timeline and may influence future roleplay.

Canon events:

  • Have clear buildup and context
  • Follow server rules and SOPs
  • Involve meaningful interaction between players
  • Create lasting consequences

What is a Non-Canon Event

A non-canon event is any roleplay scenario that is not officially recognized as part of the server’s timeline.

Non-canon events:

  • Have no lasting impact
  • May be voided by staff
  • Can include bugged, unrealistic, or rule-breaking scenarios
  • Are not enforceable in future roleplay

How to Submit a Canon Event

To have an event recognized as canon, you must submit a ticket through the appropriate support channel.

Submissions should include:

  • A clear summary of the event
  • Players involved
  • Evidence (clips, screenshots, or recordings)
  • Any outcomes or consequences

Staff will review the submission and determine if it meets canon standards.

Examples of Good Canon Events

  • A planned robbery with proper buildup, negotiation, and realistic outcome
  • A long-term gang conflict that develops over multiple scenes
  • A major arrest or investigation with evidence and follow-up
  • A business opening, expansion, or destruction that affects the community

Examples of Bad Canon Events

  • Random shootouts with no buildup or reasoning
  • “Speedrunning” crimes for quick action
  • Unrealistic scenarios that ignore FearRP or consequences
  • Events created purely for chaos or disruption
  • Scenes heavily impacted by bugs or rule violations

Canon Submission Suspensions

Players who consistently submit low-quality or unrealistic events may be suspended from submitting canon events.

Reasons for suspension may include:

  • Repeated poor-quality submissions
  • Failure to follow SOPs or server rules
  • Abuse of the canon system
  • Consistently unrealistic or disruptive roleplay

Suspensions may be temporary or permanent at staff discretion.

Eligibility for Canon Events

To be eligible to submit canon events, players must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a whitelisted civilian in the Civilian Discord
  • Be in good standing (no recent strikes, kicks, or temporary bans)
  • Be registered in CAD with an active character
  • Have a defined character backstory
  • Follow the Civilian SOP at all times

Recommended (but not required):

  • Record or stream events
  • Use Rockstar Editor to create highlights
  • Provide clear, organized evidence with submissions

Additional recommended standards:

  • Maintain consistent character behavior
  • Show effort in scene development and interaction
  • Participate in long-term storylines rather than one-off scenarios

Disqualification from Canon Events

Players may be disqualified from submitting canon events for the following:

  • Multiple kicks, warnings, or temporary bans
  • Egregious or repeated player reports
  • Consistently poor or low-effort roleplay
  • FailRP, powergaming, or metagaming
  • Abuse of mechanics or unrealistic behavior
  • Attempting to force canon outcomes without proper RP

Staff reserve the right to deny or revoke canon eligibility at any time.

Canon Event Naming Template

All articles published will follow a naming template. Example will be below.

  • Canon Update — Paleto Bank Robbery (04/12/2026)
  • Canon Update — Attorney General Kidnapping (05/22/2026)
  • Canon Update — Mirror Park Shootout (06/03/2026)

If multiple canon events happen in one day this might get messy so we may combine multiple events in one article like so.

  • Multi Canon Update — 04/15/2026
  • Multi Canon Update — Sandy Shores Incidents
  • Multi Canon Update — Weekend Events (04/15–04/17)

URL Slug Template

Do not leave blank use the template below to keep them clean and organized.

/canon-update-[event]-[date]

/multi-canon-update-[date/theme]

Canon roleplay is a privilege, not a right. The goal of canon events is to build a lasting, immersive world where actions matter and stories develop over time. High-quality roleplay will always be recognized and supported within Praxis RP.
